Antimicrobial Activity of Novel Deep Eutectic Solvents

چکیده

Herein, we utilized several deep eutectic solvents (DES) that were based on hydrogen donors and acceptors for their antibacterial application. These DES tested bactericidal activities against Gram-positive (Streptococcus pyogenes, Bacillus cereus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) Gram-negative (Escherichia coli K1, Klebsiella Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens) bacteria. Using lactate dehydrogenase assays, evaluated cytopathic effects towards human cells. Results from tests revealed prepared the combination of methyl-trioctylammonium chloride glycerol (DES-4) form fructose (DES-11) at a 2 µL dose showed broad-spectrum behavior had highest activity. Moreover, DES-4 40% 68% activity P. aeruginosa E. respectively. Similarly, DES-11 eliminated 65% 61% K1 Among bacteria, important activity, inhibiting 75% B. cereus 51% S. pneumoniae. Likewise, depicted 70% 50% pneumoniae effects. Finally, limited cytotoxic properties cell lines with exception Methyltrioctylammonium Citric acid (DES-10), which 88% findings suggest depict potent efficacies cause minimal damage to It can be concluded selected in this study could as valuable novel drugs bacterial infections. In future work, mechanisms bactericides cytotoxicity these will investigated.

Functionalization of graphene using deep eutectic solvents

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have received attention in various applications because of their distinctive properties. In this work, DESs were used as functionalizing agents for graphene due to their potential to introduce new functional groups and cause other surface modifications. Eighteen different types of ammonium- and phosphonium-salt-based DESs were prepared and characterized by FTIR. Th...

Natural deep eutectic solvents: cytotoxic profile

The purpose of this study was to investigate the cytotoxic profiles of different ternary natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs) containing water. For this purpose, five different NADESs were prepared using choline chloride as a salt, alongside five hydrogen bond donors (HBD) namely glucose, fructose, sucrose, glycerol, and malonic acid. Water was added as a tertiary component during the eutect...

Application of natural deep eutectic solvents for extraction of

Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs) considered as “green” solvents offer an efficient, safe, sustainable, and cost effective method alternative to conventional extraction while microwave assisted extraction (MAE) is a convenient, rapid, environmental friendly and efficient technique. The combination of NADESs with MAE was applied in this study for the recovery of phenolic compounds from oli...
